Abstract

The objective of this research is to present a vision of the potential of university extension as a contribution to teaching and scientific initiation, passing through action research, articulating the teaching and student role. The methodology had a qualitative, bibliographic and case study approach. Extension action, developed with research-action steps, was investigated in government accounting. It was observed an impact in the education gap, professional qualification and motivation to the research, producing knowledge. The study, by the scholarship holder, allowed understanding and reflection on the labor market, social control and accounting challenges. It is concluded that Extension can be an instrument of integration between teaching and research.
